Superhero ULKAA Film Update: Lead Actor Shray Rai Tiwari Wraps His Shoot as Aawin

The production of the upcoming indie superhero film ULKAA has reached another major milestone as lead actor Shray Rai Tiwari has officially completed his shooting schedule on 7 March 2026.
Shray Rai Tiwari plays the central character Aawin, the protagonist of the film, marking both his acting debut and his first superhero role.

In ULKAA, Shray Rai Tiwari portrays Aawin, a middle-class assistant archaeologist whose life changes after discovering a mysterious celestial ring embedded in an asteroid. Once the ring fuses to his finger, Aawin gains extraordinary powers and becomes part of a cosmic conflict.
The role demanded intense preparation, and the actor trained for two months in Mumbai before filming began to prepare physically for the action-heavy superhero character.
A Story Rooted in Ghaziabad
Interestingly, the film’s story is set around Ghaziabad, reflecting the journey of an ordinary boy who finds himself drawn into an extraordinary cosmic battle. Much of the film’s shooting also took place in and around Ghaziabad, grounding the superhero story in a real Indian setting.
Shray Rai Tiwari on Director Dushyant Kapoor
In interviews, Shray Rai Tiwari spoke highly about director Dushyant Kapoor, describing him as a “mastermind who is obsessed with superheroes.”
Shray explained that working with Kapoor felt like real cinema rather than industry theatrics, praising the director’s passion and imagination.
He also shared an interesting moment from the set. During one shoot, a storyboard page went missing, and for a few minutes the entire set went silent while Kapoor stood thinking. According to Shray, the moment reminded him of a Tony Stark-style creative process, where the director was visualizing the entire sequence in his head.
After a couple of minutes, Kapoor walked back to the team and said:
“I have it in mind now. Let’s roll the camera.”
The scene was then executed exactly as envisioned.
A Memorable Pack-Up Moment
After completing his final day on 7 March 2026, Shray Rai Tiwari shared an emotional video on Instagram, showing himself leaving the set while the team continued filming behind him.
The moment captured the actor reflecting on the long journey of the film and the intense effort the entire team had put into the project.
