Actor and director Dushyant Kapoor talks about the importance of multitasking while filming

How was your first experience in the industry?
I started in the industry by making a short film Heera, which was about a farmer. The film went on to win numerous national and international awards.
How did you get attracted to acting?
When I was filming the Mahakaal superhero web series, the actor who was supposed to play Narad couldn’t make it due to a scheduling conflict. So, I had to do the part because I was the only one who could play it at that time. People liked my character and that’s how I was attracted to acting.
What makes you smile?
Thinking about my superheroes and how they will one day appear on the screen makes me very happy. And I just don’t like being late because it makes me nervous most of the time!
What is your greatest strength?
My vision, I believe, is my greatest strength, as it is the source of everything I have accomplished so far.
How and when exactly did you realize you had a passion for direction?
It was in 2008; I remember making a video on papa’s phone, which he applauded in front of guests. That feeling kept me going for years and it was then that I realized I wanted to make movies.
How difficult it is to establish yourself in the film industry?
It was extremely difficult because I lacked close connections in the industry. I used to travel 100 kilometers to give auditions for films and television shows. I have gone through a long process to get to where I am today.
